Lead Time for Products, Shipping & Delivery

  • How long does delivery take?
    Deutsch Medical's products are made to order. The approximate lead times are as follows:
    • For Radiation Aprons and accessories 6-8 weeks.
    • For Standard Radiation Eyewear 3 weeks.
    • For Surgical and Medical Loupes 6-8 weeks.
    • For Surgical Microscopes and Components: 12 weeks.
    Once the product is in store the delivery can take between 3 - 5 days depending on your location in Australia.

Ordering

  • Has my order been successful?
    All successful order transactions will receive an order confirmation email within 24 hours. If you have not received your order confirmation email, check your email junk or spam folder. Alternatively, please contact us for further assistance.
  • I need help with my order. Who can I contact?
    You can contact Deutsch Medical during business hours from 8.00am to 5pm from Monday to Friday by phone 1300 766 854 or email info@deutschmedical.com.au. Alternatively, you can fill out a contact request on our contact us page.
  • What are your payment options?
    We accept:
    1. Direct debit
    2. Paypal
    3. Credit card (including Visa, MasterCard, American Express - 1.9% surcharge)
    4. Payment on invoice after submission of a purchase order.
  • What are the three protection options?
    All aprons, selected accessories and patient protection products are available in three protection materials that differ in weight and materials. Protection material: Vector X 
    • Is the lightest low lead protection material, only available through Deutsch Medical;
    • Which is Made of lead, antimony and bismuth using a true bilayer construction;
    • Best suited for long medical procedures, e.g. in Catheter Labs and Theatres;
    • Tested to the lead equivalent (0.35mm & 0.50mm) by independent institutions.
    • Passes current (AS/ NZS 4543.3:2000) and new international standard (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
    • Is the first light low lead that has been independently certified and tested to the lead equivalents 0.35mm & 0.50mm to cover radiation scatter and absorbed dose between 50kV to 150kV (IEC 61331-3:2014).

    Protection material: Lead free
    • Is a light – same as Vector X – but lead free protection material which is purely made of antimony and bismuth;
    • Is best suited for mid and long medical procedures, e.g. Theatres;
    • Is tested to the lead equivalent 0.35mm & 0.50mm by independent institutions.
    • Meets the current standard (AS/NZS 4543.3:2000)
    • Passes new international standards (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
    • It is the first light lead free material that has been independently certified and tested to the lead equivalents 0.35mm & 0.50mm to cover radiation scatter and absorbed dose between 50kV to 150kV (IEC 61331-3:2014).
    Protection material: Lead
    • Is a traditional weight lead protective material for individuals who occasionally conduct short medical procedures, e.g. Veterinarian and dental applications;
    • Is also used where lead is the only option for safest radiation protection, e.g. Nuclear medicine;
    • Tested to the lead equivalent (0.35mm & 0.50mm) by independent institutions
    • Meets the current standard (AS/NZS 4543.3:2000)
    • Passes new international standards (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
  • How do I find out about the right apron size?
    For an accurate fit, please refer to the size guide that lists measurements for every apron type. The size guide can be found in each apron product page or under Resources. Alternatively, we offer a personalised apron fitting appointments during which you can try the apron samples. We are also able to take your personal measurements and confirm the correct size that offers you the most protection. Please contact us to enquire about a fitting appointment.
  • Are your lead free products tested to the lead equivalent?
    Yes, our lead free products have been tested to the lead equivalent protection by independent institutions. For further information, please contact us.
  • Can I get lead eyewear with prescription lenses?
    Yes, you can get prescription lenses in your lead eyewear. However, it depends on the model of eyewear. Please contact us for further assistance and to find you the correct model that can carry prescription lenses.
  • How can I get an appointment to get fitted for aprons, lead glasses or loupes?
    Please contact us by email and/ or telephone 1300 766 854 to enquire about appointments or trial requests.
  • How can I provide feedback about a product?

  • Can I customise my apron?
    Deutsch Medical provides you with the best fitted apron. Please contact us to let us know what your individual requirements are. We offer on-site apron fittings where we show you product samples and take your individual measurements. You can personalise your apron with your personal name, department and/ or company logo.
  • Do you have a size guide for aprons?

Returns & Refunds

  • How will I be refunded?
    You will be refunded the same way you paid.  
  • When will I receive my refund?
    Returns take 2-7 business days to reach our warehouse. Once received, your request will be processed within 1-3 business days. For refunds, please note that your financial institution may need 3-5 days to clear the funds back into your account. Don't forget – we send you emails along the way so keep an eye out on your inbox (including your junk/ spam folder).
  • Can I return a faulty item?
    We aim to provide our customers with products of the highest standard and quality. If you have received an item with a defect, please contact us so we can guide you through the returns process and help resolve the problem as swiftly as possible. Please note that we'll need a photo or two showing the defect/ fault, which will speed up the returns process for you.
  • What is your return & refund policy?
    Deutsch Medical handles returns and processes refunds in accordance with the Australian Consumer Protection Legislation. Should you wish to return your order, please notify us within 14 business days upon receipt of goods with a valid reason for return. If we are unable to resolve your complaint or further assist you, we will process a refund upon timely receipt of the goods purchased. Unopened goods will be refunded in full. Refunds will be processed promptly and payment made by the same method that you made payment. All refunds are made at the discretion of Deutsch Medical. Deutsch Medical does not accept returns for customised products, unless delivered products are received with a defect or are faulty. Customised products are for example non-standard apron sizes, embroidery of personal name or logo.
