The Radiation Sleeves protect the humerus bone against radiation scatter. The sleeves are available in single or as a pair and as sewn sleeves or detachable sleeves.

Please specify on the quote request and using the selection below:

  • the length of sleeve(s).
  • if you require only one left or one right sleeve or a pair of sleeves.
  • if you prefer sewn sleeves (non-detachable) or detachable sleeves via velcro fastener.

The Radiation Sleeves are available in three protection materials:

  • Light weight lead (Vector X),
  • Light weight, lead free,
  • Lead.

And two standard protection thicknesses:

  • 0.35mm Pb
  • 0.50mm Pb

You can choose from all apron and trim colour options.

All aprons, selected accessories and patient protection products are available in three protection materials that differ in weight and materials.

Protection material: Vector X 

  • Is the lightest low lead protection material, only available through Medical Index;
  • Which is Made of lead, antimony and bismuth using a true bilayer construction;
  • Best suited for long medical procedures, e.g. in Catheter Labs and Theatres;
  • Tested to the lead equivalent (0.35mm & 0.50mm) by independent institutions.
  • Passes current (AS/ NZS 4543.3:2000) and new international standard (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
  • Is the first light low lead that has been independently certified and tested to the lead equivalents 0.35mm & 0.50mm to cover radiation scatter and absorbed dose between 50kV to 150kV (IEC 61331-3:2014).

Protection material: Lead free

  • Is a light – same as Vector X – but lead free protection material which is purely made of antimony and bismuth;
  • Is best suited for mid and long medical procedures, e.g. Theatres;
  • Is tested to the lead equivalent 0.35mm & 0.50mm by independent institutions.
  • Meets the current standard (AS/NZS 4543.3:2000)
  • Passes new international standards (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
  • It is the first light lead free material that has been independently certified and tested to the lead equivalents 0.35mm & 0.50mm to cover radiation scatter and absorbed dose between 50kV to 150kV (IEC 61331-3:2014).

Protection material: Lead

  • Is a traditional weight lead protective material for individuals who occasionally conduct short medical procedures, e.g. Veterinarian and dental applications;
  • Is also used where lead is the only option for safest radiation protection, e.g. Nuclear medicine;
  • Tested to the lead equivalent (0.35mm & 0.50mm) by independent institutions
  • Meets the current standard (AS/NZS 4543.3:2000)
  • Passes new international standards (IEC 61331-3:2014) requiring aprons to be tested against a full range of kV (50kV to 150 kV).
