Radiation Aprons
Polar Medical offers an extensive line of protective aprons that meet various needs regarding style, coverage, protection thickness, weight, profession and budget, suitable for all procedures. Through Bar-Ray – the world’s largest manufacturer of radiation protective apparel – we represent apron products in 12 different styles in more than 400 colours and patterns. We offer four protection options that differ in weight and materials used, all available in 0.35mm, 0.50mm and 0.60mm lead (equivalent) protection. We are also able to customise on special request. Our aprons are fully tested by independent institutions and we provide 12 months unconditional warranty to ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Vests and Skirts
The vests protect the upper body. As a standard all vests have padded shoulders for additional comfort. The vests comprise four styles and are available for female and male. The female option has smaller armholes than the male option to protect the female’s chest tissue. The male option provides more room around the tummy. Our unisex skirts protect the lower body region and are either equipped with a non-slip waistline attached at the inside of the skirts or with durable suspenders, preventing the skirt from shifting and sliding during use. Front Aprons
We offer nine different styles of front-only aprons, which provide Velcro and standard straps in different areas of the apron as well as various belt options to provide back support and ease lower back strain. Padded shoulders give extra comfort. For an accurate fit, please provide us with your measurements by using the weight chart (link) or request an apron fitting (link to form).
Double Aprons
For complete protection against radiation, we offer four styles of comfortable, solid one-piece wrapped around aprons that can accommodate a wider range of body figures and sizes. Patient and Dental Aprons
Our patient protection comprises accessories for paediatric and adults, available as lead and lead-free.
Apron Accessories
We offer a range of apron accessories to provide protection for the head, thyroid, hands as well as lower leg and upper arm protection. Two types of belts provide further back support. The range of thyroid collars comprises fives styles to suit different needs with Velcro or buckle closure, tethered or regular, in four protection types, 0.50mm lead (equivalent) protection and all fabric colours.
Radiation Eyewear
Polar Medical offers a range of protective leaded eyewear to suit different face shapes, coverage options, professions and budgets. Using the right eyewear can help lower the radiation exposure and minimise the risk to the clinician’s eyes. Lead eyewear is mainly used in catheter labs, Interventional radiology as well as during orthopaedic surgeries. You can choose between standard or prescription leaded eyewear. Be aware that only selected items can carry prescription glasses. Contact us to find out more about prescription lead glasses and/ or make an appointment to trial lead eyewear.
Surgical and Medical Loupes
Deutsch Medical offers a range of custom Through-the-Lens (TTL), Flip Style as well as Prismatic Loupes. Depending on the style you can choose between three magnifications: 2.5x, 3.0x or 3.5x. All loupes come standard with the exclusive E-HingeTM for the best ergonomic placement of the loupes. Different options of portable LED systems complement our loupe range. The lights are blue light compliant and provide maximum brilliance combined with long-lasting battery powered portability. In the Flip Style Loupe range you can choose between High Resolution and Micro Weight Flip Style Loupes. (Include an infographic to explain the differences????) The High Resolution Flip Style Loupes feature an extra dense optical system. Multiple lenses and glass types combine to create increase image clarity. Weight was not ignored as these loupes still weigh an average of 25 grams less than standard optical systems. The Micro Weight Flip Style loupes feature a special lens spacing technique that uses glass type and distance to help eliminate optical aberrations and bring an extreme reduction in weight.
